Lee Family Bags 11 medals, Junior Riders Shine at the Annual Horse Show 2011 at Riders Lodge – Johor Malaysia

Sedenak, Johor - it was a perfect day for horse show, bright blue skies, the smell of morning dew, riders looking their best and the horses looking smart in their plaits ready to go.

The two day event was participated by riders from as young as 8 years old to adults. The judge for the dressage was Sherry Thomas, Malaysian national Judge.

The show opened with Novice 2A Dressage which was impressively won by Joanne Lee and Super Conqueror with a score of 67.78%, a great start for the show. Next event was Preliminary Dressage with an impressive showing by the juniors scoring all above 60%, with a three way tie of 62% and the 1st place went to Gemma Elliot, tie 2nd place to Sophia Law and Rebecca Spindler. Young riders and adults had a strong showing with Christine Foong and Big Splendor winning the event with a big lead at 67.50%.

Show class open to 12 years old and below, looking polished in their show attire Sophia, Gemma, Qyle, Oliver, Abigail, Siti Hajar. Alarfaj Abdullah and Annabelle did great all scoring well with the judge – watch them shine!

The first day show jumping events were easily won by Jolene Lee with Please Be True, such an unbeatable combination.

Something new and unique... an amazing exhibition of Riders Lodge coaches Ashleigh, Julie and Nikita with Sir Philip, pink pom poms, pink blanket and bandages with coaches dressed in slinky black outfit... horse vaulting…Nikita and Julie showed their acrobatic movements on the horse – Riders Lodge own "You Think You Can Dance" team.

Highlight of the show is the "Fancy Costume for Horse & Rider" Event which attracted 10 entries. Imagine Mr. Gray, the horse turned into a pumpkin carriage ready to give Oliver Taylor, aka Cinderella the ride to the royal ball, absolutely a sight to behold, Mathilda turned Mr. Harry Potter, Rocky turned zebra with his bunny friends looked amazing and pretty Princess Jasmine on Sarabago with her own Aladdin – these were the top winners and there were more amazing costumes of wood nymph, cowgirls and goddess of love, watch their photos in the Riders Lodge website soon.

Second day was more excitement as horse, riders and everyone was abuzz for more dressage, showjumping and gymkhana. It was Joanne Lee’s day, she won Elementary dressage and Novice 2C on Super Conqueror and Power & Speed on Rocky. Prelim 1C Dressage Junior division was won by 10 year old Gemma Elliot and senior division by young 14 year old Aubrey Seto.

Gymkhana, the final event of the show, great fun for everyone …placing went to Rebecca Spindler, Aude Stanisklas, Oliver Taylor Rachel Ang and Gemma Elliott.
