PREMIER CUP SERIES
26th-29th July 2007 PUTRAJAYA


The Premier Cup Series 2007 was held at the Putrajaya home ground – one of the biggest equestrian sports event in Malaysia.

A show for all – cultural performances, pony rides, carriage rides, clowns, crafts for children and the popular inflatable games were a great treat for the young visitors. Premier Cup hosted not only to equestrian lovers but also to hundreds of students from various schools who were treated to the show complete with show bags.

The show attracted riders and horses from beginner dressage riders to Prix St. George and from first time showjumping from as low as 20-40cm to the international riders for the SEA World Cup Qualifier 140cm.

Close to 500 entries with over 100 horses and riders came to the Premier Cup Series 2007. Aussie John Valance was versatile with his courses, nice, easy flowing courses for young riders and green horses and very challenging courses for the top jumping events with only one clear in the SEA World Cup (one more than last year).

Judges in the dressage were Irene Bakels-Noreen, Gisela, Lorraine Bottreau, Larasati, Sherry Thomas and Sgt. Major Razak - great effort judging from 8:00 am to early afternoon – lot of sun tanning in the Malaysian sun.

Outstanding Versatile Young stars… Dressage riders and show jumpers 15 year old Francesca Liauw (Singapore), winner of Young Rider World Cup, Ladies Cup and Open (60-80cm) showjumping, reserve Elementary champion (Lobbi) and 16 year old Ellesse Tzinberg (Philippines), champion Novice (Lord Lester), Reserve Medium Champion Dressage (Super Conqueror) and debut Lord Lester in jumping. Watch this young rider in the warm up arenas helping other young riders with their horses having a bad day – great sporting spirit and an inspiration! Watch their grace in the dressage arena and gaze at their fluid rounds in show jumping.
