Chinese New Year also called Lunar New Year falls on Sunday, February 14th, same day as Valentine’s Day 2010. It is celebrated for about fifteen days. The Chinese tradition is to take family reunion holidays to join their dear ones and feast with their family members on the Lunar New Year's Eve. Even with the modern times and increasing mobility of people the celebration of Chinese New Year is still observed following the customs and traditions of their elders.
At Riders Lodge, we observe some of the traditional celebrations to welcome the Year of the Tiger and wish for good health and prosperity. We start with the serving of “Yee Sang” for prosperity and the traditional Lion Dance performed by our famous Kulai dance troupe to bring in all the good spirits!
