Press Release - In House Show Action at Riders Lodge, Kulai, Johor, Malaysia
Over the weekend, there were 5 dressage classes, Junior Rider show class, 6 show jumping classes and the NEW FANCY COSTUME EVENT. All riders mount were on borrowed horses except for Joanne Lee and Raja Alicia who rode their own horses, Super Conqueror and Vivaldi, HC respectively. We had guest’s riders, Becky Lanyon who now resides in Thailand and Cyril Hawkins from Kuala Lumpur. Quite impressive was the camaraderie and enthusiastic support from all riders especially bubbly Niloofar and the professionalism of the junior riders, not a tear this year – everyone looked so impressive, gracious in loss and victory. Medals and prizes were awarded for all placing... this show could be the richest show in prizes for an in house event! Judges Cheryl Hawkins and Sally Drummond supported with scribes Mala and Natalie were very commendable as they painstakingly wrote constructive comments to help improve the participants riding skills. And in the Riders Lodge tradition, the riders enjoyed an inspiring clinic from the judges using the actual video footage taken during the show. Such practice is usually only done for FEI World Dressage Challenge events, kudos to Riders Lodge! Show jumping demonstrations by the Riders Lodge instructors, Jay and Catz on the great royal warm blood, Prince Phillip and Lord Lester left the spectators in awe! But the greatest show of all was the “FANCY COSTUME EVENT”. Congratulations to all and thank you to the great support of the parents, friends and sponsors! Glorious weather…professionally attired riders… good looking horses and enthusiastic judges, the Riders Lodge In House Annual Competition 2009 started on time without a hitch at 8:00 am.
